General Information

The New Mexico Chapter of the American Concrete Institute (NM-ACI) was established in 1984 with the original goal of improving the level of quality assurance testing of concrete at New Mexico construction sites. Soon after its charter, the chapter began conducting concrete field testing certification programs for the local construction community. Through the years, the chapter has expanded its offering of certification programs to include laboratory testing, inspection, and flat work finishing.

The chapter has also broadened its purpose to include the advancement of the overall knowledge of concrete in New Mexico. Besides certification, NM-ACI sponsors educational, social, and project award programs and events as well as maintaining a library of ACI publications for its members. Chapter membership normally includes engineers, architects, consultants, contractors, educators, material and equipment suppliers, and students. The chapter functions under the auspices of international parent organization, the American Concrete Institute (ACI). ACI is a nonprofit technical and educational society and is one of the world’s leading authorities on concrete technology.
